This
artistic needlework began its popularity during the Victorian era and is
still alive and well, in fact , enjoying a come back today. Once you
experience the beauty, you will understand why. Silk ribbon has a look
and feel different from anything else. It lends itself to a broad range
of traditional embroidery stitches, with the final effect being
3-dimensional.
I
first began working with silk ribbon early in 1995 and am now completely
addicted! In design progression, I have used it alone, with other
traditional embroidery, and mixed media (adding embellishments of metal,
beads and satin ribbon). The finished pieces give an air of elegance,
style and grace that simply cannot be matched by any other medium.
Here
you will find a selection of projects covering a variety of needlework forms,
as well as additions to enhance finished pieces. With new designs always in
the works,
the site will be updated frequently so . . . come visit often!
Enjoy!
